Our team of creators includes former brewers, winemakers, and Michelin-trained chefs who have more than 50 years of collective distilling experience. Their passions and knowledge combine to push the boundaries of traditional whiskey-making.

There are no shortcuts in our deliberate process—and therein lies the beauty.

We bring together the best of three traditions in a way that has never been done before.

  • Brewed Like a Craft Ale

    We begin by brewing an artisanal American Ale from scratch using locally malted barely, ale yeast and a low temperature fermentation.

  • DISTILLED LIKE A SINGLE MALT

    We distill twice in custom low-reflux pot stills designed to create a robust spirit, transforming our fresh, flavorful ale into whiskey.

  • AGED LIKE A BOURBON

    We mature to perfection in new, heavily toasted and lightly charred American Oak barrels selected to accentuate the bold characteristics of our whiskey.

To best showcase the full spectrum of our complex earthy, fruity and spicy flavors, we mingle our barrels in small batches to achieve Westward’s signature flavor profile—balanced and bold.
