Where is Westward Whiskey located?

We are located in Southeast Portland at 65 SE Washington street, right in the heart of Portland's Distillery Row.

When is the distillery open to the public?

We are open Sunday through Thursday from 12 to 7pm and on Friday and Saturday from 12 to 8pm.

How do you get to the distillery?

Portland has amazing public transportation; the TriMet bus service or streetcar will drop you off just 3 blocks away. There is also a complimentary shuttle, just get off at the Smith Tea stop. More information on the shuttle service can be found at: http://ceic.cc/shuttle/

We suggest using a ride-share service to promote responsible enjoyment of our spirits.

Where can I park?

There is a parking lot at the distillery and some limited street parking available.

Do I need a reservation?

Reservations are encouraged but not required. Please make a reservation or call ahead if your party is larger than 6 people.

Are pets allowed?

Service animals are always welcome. While Oregon law prohibits pets inside our establishment, we do have a patio area where pets are welcome.

Can I buy Westward online? If I buy a bottle, can you ship it for me?

We do not currently ship our spirits. You can find our spirits online from these retailers: www.southerwineandspirits.com or www.caskers.com

Are your spirits gluten-free?

Yes, distilled spirits, even if made from wheat, barley, or rye, are considered gluten-free. Most liquors are safe for people with celiac disease because of the distillation process.

Do you serve food?

We do not serve food, but you are welcome to bring in outside food. No outside beverages are permitted.

Where can we get lunch/dinner in the area?

There are many great restaurants in the area: Olympic Provisions, Wayfinder, Produce Row Cafe and Loyal Legion to name a few.

Is your facility ADA accessible?

Our tasting room is ADA compliant. However, there are portions of the distillery that are not accessible.

How much is the Westward Experience?

The Westward Experience is $30 per person.

What does the tour experience include?

You will begin the tour with a welcome cocktail in our tasting room. From there you will follow the grain to glass story, learning how every batch of Westward American Single Malt is made start to finish from scratch. While touring the distillery you'll get to taste: Pacific Northwest malted barley, beer wash and un-aged new make whiskey. The tour concludes with a whiskey flight featuring several expressions of Westward American Single Malt Whiskey.

What is the largest group Westward can accommodate?

Tours are limited to fifteen people. Our classes are limited to ten to twelve spots and fill up quickly. If you are looking to do a larger event or book the space for a private event, please email us at: events@westwardwhiskey.com

Does the tour come with a tasting flight?

The tour includes a welcome cocktail and whiskey flight.

Do you have to take the tour to taste whiskey?

We have several flight options that allow for you to taste: Westward American Single Malt, cocktails and various other spirits.

When should I arrive for my tour?

Guests should arrive 10-15 minutes prior to their scheduled tour. The distillery sits adjacent to the railroad tracks and trains can often cause delays. If you get stuck don't worry, we are right on the other side with a cocktail waiting.

Where do I go when I arrive?

Please check in with one of our team members inside the tasting room so that we can welcome you and start you off with a cocktail. From there we will set you up with your guide and begin the tour!

How long are your tours?

Tours are approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

Are children allowed on tours?

Minors are allowed in the tasting room (with adult accompaniment, of course). Due to the fact that we are a working distillery, tour participants must be 21 years of age or older.

I don't love whiskey or I don't want to drink, can I still take the tour?

You are certainly more than welcome to join us on the tour but seeing as the Westward Experience is all encompassing, you would still be required to pay the full tour cost.

Can I take pictures on the tour?

Of course! #GoWestward

I have a certificate for a "Tour and Tasting for 4," what does that include?

This certificate is good for a tour or tasting of one’s choosing for up to four people. Every guest can choose their own experience from the following: Westward Experience, Whiskey Flight, Cocktail Flight or Spirit Flight. All participants must be present at the time of redemption, may not be combined with other offers, no cash value.

Can I use my Distillery Row Passport toward a tour or class?

The Distillery Row Passport is valued as a $5 credit towards any of our tasting experiences including our tours. It may not be applied to our classes, merchandise or bottled spirits.
